An interview with Kyle Spence, one of the new transfers of "Karvan-Yevlakh", to Futbolinfo.az
- You have joined "Karvan-Yevlakh" for about 1 month. Have you fully adapted to your new club and team?
- I am gradually adapting to the new environment. It is true that the hot weather creates some difficulties, but I am slowly getting used to it. I am happy to say that the people here are very friendly and my teammates show high professionalism. This makes the adaptation process easier for me. I look forward to contributing to the team and developing together with such a talented team.
- What surprised you in a positive way in your new club?
- What surprised me the most in a positive way in "Karvan-Yevlakh" is the scale of the club's development and its ambition. My agents had talked about this before. At the same time, the unwavering support of the fans is very inspiring and creates a motivating environment. It was also impressive that the team had the most fans in the I League games last season. I look forward to seeing them in the stands in the Premier League this season.
- "Karvan-Yevlakh" will play in the Azerbaijan Premier League after a long break. You probably realize what this means for the club and the fans. Do you think the return will be successful?
- Yes, I believe that "Karvan-Yevlakh"'s return to the Azerbaijan Premier League can be very successful. The representative of Yevlakh was the first Azerbaijani team to pass the first qualifying round of the UEFA Cup, which is a very important achievement. This legacy creates pride and high expectations in both the fans and the team. If everyone unites and works for success, I believe that "Karvan-Yevlakh" will make a strong and inspiring return.
- The championship will start on August 15 and you will face "Gabala" in the first round. How do you assess the chances?
- We have both quality and determination to succeed. Our team is focused on winning and every player is ready to do their best on the field. We don't play to lose - we fight together and believe that we will win. We trust in our ability and are ready to put everything on the line.
- Do you know that "Gabala" was once coached by your compatriot, the legend of "Arsenal", Tony Adams?
- First of all, I must say that I am an "Arsenal" fan and Tony Adams is one of my heroes. I will never forget the moment when he stopped his car, greeted me and took a picture with me during the Danone Cup - he is a very kind and sincere person. I am sure that his activity in "Gabala" has created a positive and long-term impact on the club. He is a true example on and off the field. It's funny now - when I first saw Adams at the age of 9, I never imagined that one day both of us would pass through Azerbaijan.
- Everyone predicts that the new season of the Azerbaijan championship will be more competitive. Does this give you extra motivation?
- I completely agree, a more competitive season increases motivation. You can be sure that it will be very interesting to watch us as the team members get to know each other better and the team's chemistry is formed. We are ready to fight to the end for every point and make this season memorable.
