Kazakhstan's "Kayrat" football club has qualified for the general stage of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in its history.
"Report" reports that the opponent in the play-off stage of the selection stage was the Scottish team "Celtic".

The fate of the pair was decided in a penalty shootout, with "Kayrat" being stronger - 3:2. Thus, the Almaty team reached the general stage of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history.
Previously, only "Astana" managed to pass the play-off of the tournament from the Kazakhstan clubs in the 2015/16 season.
