– How do you assess "Shamakhi's" overall performance in the past 25 rounds?
– I think we can be satisfied with what we have achieved overall. There were moments during the season when we could have risen to higher positions. If we had won the two matches we played against "Araz-Nakhchivan", we would have gotten even closer to them. "Shamakhi" has a small budget, but we defeated clubs like "Qarabag" and "Zira" and surprised many people. We have a good team, and we have many young players with great potential.
– Which games are you most upset about losing points in this season?
– I would mention the match against "Gabala". Losing 0:4 at home was very disappointing. We have lost at least 5-7 points. There were games where we were leading 1:0, but we lost in the end. For example, I want to remind you of the home matches with "Zira" and "Sumgayit". This shows that we need to improve in terms of experience. We still have to strive for progress and learn.
– How will the break due to the national team games affect "Shamakhi"?
– We are preparing for the last 8 meetings. We had the opportunity to rest for a few days and tried to maintain our physical fitness.
– In the first match after the break, you will be a guest of "Zira". What are your expectations from this game?
– It will be a difficult match. "Zira" has a very good team and a strong head coach, and they have been performing consistently in recent years. We hope we will perform well. Fans will watch an interesting game.
– You have scored 9 goals in the championship this season and are 6 goals behind top scorer Coy-Lens Mickels. How many goals do you aim to score by the end of the season?
– Yes, I have scored 12 goals in total, 3 of them were against "Qarabag" in the cup. I am happy about this, but I want to finish the last games strongly as well. "Sabah" is a very good team, they create many attacking opportunities during the match, which is more favorable for Coy-Lens Mickels. As a striker, I always set a goal for myself to reach at least 10 goals+assists.
– The end of the season is approaching. Are there offers from more ambitious clubs? Are you planning to spend the next season in another club, or are you planning to stay in "Shamakhi"?
– Yes, since my contract with "Shamakhi" expires on May 31, there have been offers from some clubs. I am evaluating all options, including offers from other countries. I hope to stay in Azerbaijan because I feel very good here, the league is competitive. As for staying in "Shamakhi", I don't know that yet.
