The reason why FIFA referee Kamal Umudlu was not assigned to the matches of the XIV round of the Misli Premier League has become known. Sport24.az received information about this from a reliable source.
The new chairman of the AFFA Referees Committee, Rahim Hasanov, punished the representative of justice.
This was caused by the referee's wrong decision in the "Imishli" - "Sabah" match held on December 3rd.
Umudlu awarded a penalty at the end of the main time of the match, citing that Umarali Rakhmonaliyev, a football player of the capital's representative, played with his hand. Interestingly, the referee made this decision after watching VAR. However, the ball hit the player's face.
"Sabah" won 2:1 in extra time and advanced to the 1/4 finals.
The Chairman of the Referees Committee gave Kamal Umudlu a "rest" in the current round for this reason. It is expected that he will not be assigned to the XV round either.
It should be noted that the XV round will start on December 13.
