Kamal Guliyev, a former member of the Azerbaijani national team and "Neftchi", who has serious health problems, has been hospitalized again.
The veteran football player himself announced this.
He stated that he has been receiving treatment in one of the clinics in Sumgayit for four days with the support of AFFA.
"All the tests are repeated. I am injected with systems during the day, I take medicines. They take very good care of me in the clinic. I thank them. So far, everything is going normally. Let's see how it ends," he said in a statement to qol.az.
K.Guliyev noted that he may have surgery after his treatment is over:
"Everything is in God's hands, a miracle can happen. I had liver cirrhosis. I had two courses of treatment. I followed the diet as the doctors said. I have to be treated again before the surgery. There will be tests at the end of the treatment and the doctors' decision will be known. I do not lose hope, may God help everyone, including me."
K.Guliyev also spoke about the people who showed him financial and moral support:
"I express my gratitude to AFFA. Because the federation has taken over my treatment. From here, I thank the president of AFFA, the secretary general and the entire leadership. It is good that there are such people at the head of Azerbaijani football. They do not forget the past. Those who forget the past cannot look to the future. A person feels very happy when he feels safe, when he knows that he has a place to lean on. You see that you have not devoted your years to Azerbaijani football in vain. Because today there is such an organization that takes care of you, such people who do not leave you alone. I express my gratitude to all of them.
I am grateful to my former teammates, especially Gurban Gurbanov. They helped a lot in my first treatment. Gurban Gurbanov has not spared his help until today. He himself asked me not to tell anyone about this. But let some ignorant, vile people, people with whom we have eaten bread from the same plate for years, fought side by side, know that there are men like Gurban in life. Ramiz Mammadov, Ilham Yadullayev, Aykhan Abbasov, Kenan Kerimov, Zaur Ismayilov, Vadim Vasilyev, Arif Asadov, Yunis Huseynov, Ruslan Abishov, "Sumgayit" and "Neftchi" clubs were with me from the first day, headed by the management. Even the driver of "Neftchi" was interested in me and supported me. I embrace them all. There are also friends whose names I may forget, I thank them all. Because I am not in that situation now. I may forget."
K.Guliyev stated that there were also people who turned away from him in this difficult day:
"Maybe God is testing me, testing false friends in this world. Friends are known in difficult times. Men come out in difficult times. And cowards run and hide. Indeed, this word is very true. There are people for whom I did everything, even gave my house away, who left me in trouble. The football community already knows them well. But let me not mention their names, let it remain a secret. I am ashamed to talk about it, to mention their names, but they are comfortable. I will probably pass this test successfully. I believe that I will pass this test because of those people."
