Kamal Guliyev, the former football player of the Azerbaijani national team and "Neftchi," has announced the latest situation regarding his health.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to teleqraf.az that he stated in his statement that he left the clinic 20 days ago, but the treatment process was interrupted.
K. Guliyev noted that although the treatment was planned to consist of 4 stages, only the first part was completed. According to him, the initial treatment stage was carried out with the support of Gurban Gurbanov, the "Neftchi" and "Sumgayit" clubs, as well as former teammates, and assistance is currently being provided with drug supply.
The 50-year-old specialist, who has been suffering from liver failure for a long time, said that he applied to AFFA in the second stage. He said that he met with a representative of the federation and contacted his doctor. Although a liver transplant operation was planned two months later, he was only able to receive treatment for 4-5 days while he was supposed to stay in the hospital. According to Guliyev, although AFFA covered the initial expenses, the process was stopped halfway, and he was forced to leave the clinic.
The former football player thanked the federation for this short-term support but emphasized that he expects additional help. He also expressed his dissatisfaction with the financial distribution in Azerbaijani football and stated that in some cases high amounts are allocated, but a relatively small amount could not be found for his treatment.
Guliyev also noted that he has served Azerbaijani football for many years, represented the country as a legionnaire, and spent personal funds for the national team. According to him, he has been unemployed for 11 years and attributes this to his always speaking openly.
The former football player finally stated that he expects support from the relevant institutions and noted that he has not lost hope for his health to improve.
