Kakhaber Tskhadadze, the head coach of "Gabala," gave an interview to gabalasc.az. Sport24.az reports that the Georgian specialist evaluated the results of the season marked by the championship of the "red-blacks" in the I League.
- How do you assess the overall season? Are you satisfied with the team's performance this season, the quality of the players' game?
- This season was very good for us. We finished the competition with a high result and became champions with the games we showed. My players and coaching staff worked very hard to finish the year like this. In the end, we saw the benefits of it.
- "Gabala" became the champion this year with the least goals conceded, the least defeats, the most goals scored, etc. high indicators. Did you believe from the beginning of the season that the result would be like this?
- This result was not easy to achieve. At the beginning of the season, we had the responsibility to build a team almost from scratch. We managed to cope with this task with our sports director, club management, and coaching staff. Then we had a lot of physical, tactical, etc. training. With this, we wanted to prepare our players as well as possible for the new season. They also managed to cope with all of this. Football is a team sport, we achieved this result together, as a team, thanks to the efforts of everyone.
- The team mainly performed with young players this year. How satisfied were you with their performance?
- This year, we also gave young players enough chances in the games. They also tried to do their best. But this is just the beginning. Our young players need to work harder on themselves and develop more.
- How about next season, do you plan to give a chance to young football players who are graduates of the academy again?
- Of course, we plan to keep most of the team's own graduates in the team. Considering that next season we will compete in the Premier League. In order to be able to compete there with teams such as "Qarabag", "Neftchi", etc., our young players need to work harder on themselves.
- Fans wished "Gabala" to become the champion in the 1st League without losing and even without conceding a goal. What do you think prevented this?
- This year we had very good indicators. We moved forward without losing 21 games, and in the end, we became the team with the most goals scored. Closer to the end of the championship, we also conceded a goal, and we lost twice. This is also a part of football. Where there is a struggle, it is normal for such cases to happen. Our main goal was to get a ticket to the Premier League, and then to become the champion, which we managed to cope with at a high level.
- What are the main plans for the next season? What goals will the team fight for?
- In the next season, we must be more competitive and work harder to achieve good results in the elite. Although we do not have a specific task, we must build a competitive and combative team so that our opponents are afraid of us. In this case, the result and success will be with the team.
