Josh Cinnelli, the new transfer of "Turan Tovuz", made his debut in the team in the 18th round of the Azerbaijan Premier League.
Idman.Biz reports that Cinnelli played his first match against "Qarabag". After his first match, the football player, speaking to Sportnet.az, shared his thoughts on the match, debut excitement, the team's European Cup goals and physical condition.
– You appeared for the first time in the "Turan Tovuz" squad in the match against "Qarabag". How do you rate your debut game?
– Yes, it was my first game in the team. We wanted to achieve a result that would please our fans. Unfortunately, we fell behind towards the end of the first half. At the end of the game, although we tried to win at least one point, we could not achieve this.
– Your debut was against a strong opponent, "Qarabag". How much information did you have about this team beforehand?
– I knew "Qarabag"'s strength well. We clearly saw their capabilities on the field in this match as well. I think we had chances to score points. But the result was not what we wanted.
– In your opinion, what did the team lack for a positive result?
– Football is a game built on small details. Everything may seem simple from the outside, but it's different on the field. We had opportunities in the last minutes, but the opposing goalkeeper performed well in decisive episodes.
– How can this defeat affect "Turan Tovuz"'s European Cup target?
– Even though we lost points in the game against "Qarabag", the season is still going on. There are enough games ahead and we will try to change the situation in our favor in the next matches. I believe that with the support of our fans, we will achieve our goal.
– How much time do you need to be fully physically ready?
– I try to get better every day, I put my maximum effort in training. I need a little time. God willing, I will be in better shape in the near future and everyone will see it.
