Crystal Palace has announced that John Textor has sold his shares in the club.
Idman.biz reports that the American businessman has sold his 43% stake to Woody Johnson, the owner of the New Jersey Nets basketball club.
The deal is reported to be worth 190 million. Crystal Palace now hopes that UEFA will allow the team to compete in the Europa League.
As it is known, since John Textor also owns Lyon, according to UEFA rules, these teams cannot participate in the same tournament. As a result, Palace was sent to the Conference League, and Nottingham Forest replaced them in the Europa League.
It should be noted that the winner of the English Cup protested the decision and appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The Eagles believe they will ultimately achieve their desires.
