Former Chelsea captain John Terry has called on the London club's management to bring Brazilian defender Thiago Silva back from Fluminense.
Idman.Biz reports that Silva wants to return to the London club because his family lives in Europe.
"Thiago Silva is ready. Listen to me. He is a man with a wealth of experience who has excellent relations with our football club. Two of his children study at our academy. He will undoubtedly return to London with his family at Christmas. I would like to see him at our club again. I'm not saying he has to play every week, but the experience the club can gain by playing with such players can probably be compared to the role I played under Antonio Conte in 2017 when we won the championship.
I was a link between the players, the coach and the owners. I had some experience, thanks to which I knew what to say and what to do in a difficult period. Thiago Silva's return to Chelsea would make everyone very happy, including me. I'm just giving my opinion. Thiago, we love you," Terry told The Sun.
Silva played for Chelsea from 2020 to 2024. In the London club, the defender played 155 matches, scored nine goals, made five assists and won three trophies: the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
This season, Silva has played 30 matches in all competitions for the club, scored three goals and made one assist.
Earlier, the media reported that the football player was considering returning to Europe to finish his playing career in a place closer to his family living in England.
