"Today is one of the most important days. Our goal is to qualify for the World Championship. What happens after that doesn't matter. Our national team will continue its journey at the World Cup with the support of our fans."
These words were said by Kosovan footballer Jetmir Topalli, who plays for Turkish club Serikspor, while talking about the final match his country will play against the Turkish national team today in the European zone play-off stage of the World Championship.
He stated that although the Turkish national team has a more qualified squad, the chances are equal.
"In final games, the chances are always equal. The Turkish national team is a more qualified team, they have more star players, and that's why they are considered favorites," he said in a statement to AZERTAC.
J.Topalli said that Kosovo will also try to evaluate its chances: "We will also try to use our chances whenever possible. I think that our national team has prepared very well for this game. I hope that our dream will come true today."
The football player also revealed his prediction about the outcome of the match: "It is difficult to say the exact result, but I expect us to win with a score of 2:1. We can also win in the penalty shootout. The main thing is to qualify for the World Championship."
The player, who emphasized that playing for the Kosovo national team is a great pride for him, stated that he is always ready for an invitation: "Playing for the national team has been my childhood dream. I have worn the jersey in several games so far and I am very happy about it. Whenever my country needs me, I am always ready."
The match will be organized at 22:45 Baku time.
It should be noted that the World Championship, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, will be held from June 11 to July 19.
