"We showed a very good performance in the test matches." Sport24.az reports that these words were said by the head coach of the Croatian team "Osijek", Jelko Sopić.
The 51-year-old specialist, who previously worked in "Sabah", spoke about the training camp in Antalya, Turkey, and also touched upon the test matches they held against the teams "Qarabağ" and "Sumgayit":
"If we put the results in the background, I can say that I am very pleased with the performance of the players. We were planning three games, but in the end we played four matches because we agreed with "Qarabağ", and I am happy about that. I decided not to change anything regarding who would play in which meeting, and I think that our young players fought well against an opponent like "Qarabağ", which plays in the UEFA Champions League. A nominally stronger squad played against "Sumgayit". I think it was also an interesting match."
It should be noted that "Qarabağ" defeated "Osijek" with a score of 3:1. "Sumgayit", on the other hand, lost to this team with two unanswered goals. Jelko Sopić was the head coach of "Sabah" from November 2019 to the summer of 2020.
