The protests in Iran have had severe consequences for the sports community.
Idman.Biz reports that Mojtaba Tarshiz, a former player of Tabriz's "Traktor" football club, was shot and killed along with his wife during the protests.

During the same events, Mehdi Lavasani, the head coach of the "Mahan Novin" amateur football team in Tehran's Narmak district, was seriously injured as a result of the shooting. The bullet entered his back and exited from the front of his chest.

No official statement has been made regarding either incident.
It should be noted that mass protests have been taking place in Iran for several days due to social problems.
