An interview with Orkhan Aliyev, the striker of the Kyrgyz club "Ozgon", for Futbolinfo.az
– You are continuing your career in Kyrgyzstan. How did your transfer to the "Ozgon" club go, who did you consult with when making the decision? Wasn't there an option to stay in Azerbaijan?
– Such an offer came. I talked and consulted with my manager and friend Gvanzav Magomedov, and decided to accept the offer. There was also an offer from Azerbaijan, but I didn't want to stay myself. After signing a contract with "Ozgon", new offers came from my country, but it was too late.
– Your contract with the new club is only for 6 months. What is the reason for this? Don't you want to stay in Kyrgyzstan for a long time?
– Because the season in Kyrgyzstan ends in November. I wanted the contract to be for 6 months myself. I did not agree to a long-term contract.
– Your debut with the new club was successful and you also opened your goal account in the championship match against "Asiagoal" (2:0)…
– I am happy that I scored in my debut game. I will try to be useful to the team by distinguishing myself in the next matches as well.
– In the middle of last season, you were transferred to "Turan Tovuz" at the request of Kurban Berdyev. What was the reason for the short duration of your career at the Tovuz club?
– These things happen in football. I played little in "Turan Tovuz", which affected me badly. Because when a football player doesn't play, he loses his form. I met with Kurban Berdyev and talked to him. He said that he wanted me to stay in the team. But I made such a decision. Thank you to Berdyev, he understood me.
– What are your personal goals until the end of the year? What goal have you set for yourself?
– I want to perform better. I have a goal and I am slowly moving towards it.
– Recently, we have witnessed an influx of Azerbaijani football players to Kyrgyzstan. Before you, Mirabdulla Abbasov and Ilkin Muradov also went to this country. Is the preference for the Kyrgyz option due to the financial attractiveness of the offer, or is it a forced step?
– Yes, Mirabdulla and Ilkin are also playing here now. I wish them success too. Personally, let me say on my own behalf that a good offer came from Kyrgyzstan and I accepted this offer.
– How does the Kyrgyzstan championship differ from our Premier League?
– I liked here that the number of teams is increasing year by year. This is very good for Kyrgyz football. If 10 teams competed in the league last year, this year 14 teams are competing, and next year this number will be 16. They love football. A base and stadium are being built for each team in Kyrgyzstan.
