Details have emerged regarding the unexpected resignation of Ibrahim Uzunca, the head coach of the "Khankendi" football club in the Azerbaijan Second League.
The team's captain, Aziz Huseynov, told Idman.Biz that the Turkish specialist will now lead youth football at the club and has been appointed as a coordinator.
"From now on, Ibrahim Uzunca will be responsible for youth football at the club and has been appointed coordinator of the football academy being created in "Khankendi". The thing is, our head coach was working two jobs at the same time and was finding it physically difficult to cope. The club management also decided that he would be more useful in his new position as a specialist in youth football," said Aziz Huseynov.
He continued by saying that the club is currently in talks with three football specialists and will make a selection in the near future.
"I can also say that the team's new head coach will be a local specialist, not a foreigner. We intend to work with a coach who we plan to promote to the First League and perform successfully there," said the captain of "Khankendi".
It should be noted that "Khankendi" is currently in second place in the tournament table with 39 points. The team has the same points as the leader, "Garadagh Lokbatan".

"Khankendi", having parted ways with Ibrahim Uzunca, has started searching for a new head coach.
Idman.Biz reports, citing sport24.az, that the management intends to invite a specialist to "take the helm" of the team who will meet the club's ambitions.
It was reported that the club's first candidate, aiming to be promoted to the First League, was Gazanfar Abbasov, the coach of "Garadagh Lokbatan", their main rival in the Second League. Officials even sent an offer to the coach from Sumgayit regarding this. However, G. Abbasov stated that he did not want to leave his current job and that everything satisfied him at the settlement's representative.
The main candidate for the currently vacant position is Vugar Nadirov, who left "Shamkir" during the season. Negotiations with V. Nadirov have already been completed, and unless there is a force majeure, his appointment will be announced to the public in the coming days.
