Interview of Huseynali Guliyev, the new transfer of "Imishli", to Futbolinfo.az
– Let's start with the past season. What reasons led to your former club "Sabail" leaving the Premier League?
– If a club leaves the top league, it means everyone is at fault. In other words, it cannot be limited to just certain people, everyone is to blame in this matter.
– What can you say about your transfer to "Imishli"? Did you have other offers? Why did you prefer this option?
– I had other options as well. But I wanted to move to a club where I could play more. I am happy to have signed a contract with "Imishli".
– "Imishli" held its next test match against "Karvan-Yevlakh" as part of its preparations for the Premier League. Could you share your thoughts on both this match (1:2) and the preparation process?
– True, we lost to "Karvan-Yevlakh", but this is just the beginning of the preparation process. We still have things to fix. We believe that we will be able to eliminate the shortcomings by the start of the season.
– What will be "Imishli"'s goal in its first year back in the Premier League? What place is the team strong enough to fight for?
– We have not set a goal to take any particular place. But we ourselves will do our best for the team to be in good places. The club's goal is to benefit Azerbaijani football.
– The fact that the management of "Imishli" brought in Jorge Casquilha, a not-so-well-known specialist, instead of a local expert to the head coach position was not unequivocally accepted. What is your initial impression of him? What is his specialty as a coach?
– Every football player needs to approach this issue professionally. In other words, we are not interested in what is written about Jorge Casquilha in the media. He is currently our team's coach and we must follow his instructions.
– Despite "Sabail"'s relegation from the Premier League, you were remembered for many critical saves last season. Will you be able to perform better in the new season in the "Imishli" squad?
– I did my best on the field last season. God willing, this season I will give my maximum effort in every game I participate in and I will try to fix my shortcomings with individual training.
