"My departure from "Sabail" was due to professional reasons. I considered staying in the Premier League more suitable for my career. We met with the club management, and they also understood my decision to perform in the elite division, our agreement was mutual."
Idman.biz reports that goalkeeper Huseynali Guliyev said these thoughts in his statement to Futbolinfo.az.
The 25-year-old football player stated that the offer he received from his new club "Imishli" came through his manager about a week ago: "We discussed this issue in detail and thought that it would be the right step for my future. At this stage, my main goal is to have more playing practice. The fact that "Imishli" aims to make a wider contribution to Azerbaijani football was an additional motivation for me."
Talking about his first impressions of the team, Guliyev emphasized that the new team is very sincere and communicative with each other: "I felt a positive atmosphere from the first day. It is natural to have some difficulties because it is a club that has just qualified for the Premier League. But I believe that everything will improve over time and stability will be achieved."
The young goalkeeper also stated that he will fight for a place in the main team in his new club: "I will do my best to become the main goalkeeper. Healthy competition has always driven me forward. In such circumstances, both individual development takes place and the team gets stronger. This is a positive factor for me."
He said that the coaches are trying to instill their game philosophies in the team, and noted that everyone should act responsibly to achieve a common goal: "Every coach tries to convey his system and game vision to the players in order to achieve success. We, as a team, must also properly fulfill the tasks given so that a successful team is formed."
Huseynali, who stated that the responsibility falls on every football player in "Imishli", which will spend its first season in the Premier League, also spoke about his personal goals: "I want to advance as much as possible in my career and reach higher levels. Living a legionnaire life is also among my plans. Getting an invitation to the national team has been my dream since childhood. I hope that I will achieve the goals I have set for myself in football."
