Norway national team and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland shared his thoughts on the expectations and pressure on him in the national team.
Idman.Biz reports that Haaland said in a statement on the club's official website that the expectations of Norwegian fans are natural.
"Everyone was expecting this. Let me be clear: if I were a Norwegian football fan living in Norway and Erling Haaland played for the national team, I would expect him to make us world champions. It's very simple. We've come a long way and finally achieved it - we qualified for the World Cup. It was amazing. I hope this is the beginning of something special. Now a great generation has formed, there are many young players and we are building something that together can be great," said Haaland.
It should be noted that at the 2026 World Cup, the Norwegian national team will compete in a group with France, Senegal and the winner of the intercontinental play-off games (Bolivia / Suriname / Iraq).
