The experienced specialist said that he was extremely happy that they had reached the League stage:
"We witnessed a tense game. I congratulate my players on their great achievement. It's as if I haven't witnessed such an atmosphere in the stadium for a long time. Our fans deserved this victory the most."
He said that he was delighted to receive the congratulations of President Ilham Aliyev:
"President Ilham Aliyev congratulated "Karabakh". I welcome this with a sense of pride. Once again, we saw that the head of the country watches our games and supports us. In turn, I congratulate President Ilham Aliyev and his family on this victory."
Gurban Gurbanov did not rule out holding the League stage matches at the Baku Olympic Stadium:
"We have not decided in which stadium we will hold the League stage matches. We can continue our matches at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium. However, if advised, it is possible to use the Baku Olympic Stadium."
The head coach emphasized that the "Karabakh" players were tense before the game:
"I was with the players for the last 3 days. I felt how tense they were. I even ordered my players to be cool-headed. Although, I myself felt tension. Thank God, today they suffered a sweet defeat. I embrace each of them. Our players fully deserved to play in the League stage."
