PSG (France) and Newcastle (England) are teams of approximately equal strength. Sport24.az reports that this was stated by Qurban Gurbanov, head coach of Qarabag, while assessing their opponent Newcastle in the UEFA Champions League play-off stage.
Speaking to the press service of the "Stallions", the expert stated that they expect an interesting fight:
"I wish the draw is beneficial and successful for our team and fans. After each stage, we face more serious opponents. Newcastle drew 1:1 with PSG in the last round of the League stage. Therefore, it can be said that the strength of both teams is approximately the same. Playing against a Premier League club always requires extra strength. Newcastle is a very serious opponent. We will try to show a good game, prepare well. Because the English Premier League is the strongest championship in the world. There is not so much difference between the teams here. Every team can beat each other. It is possible to see 3-4 goals in every match.
We will try to prepare well for the match, get to know the opponent better. But Newcastle is not weaker than any of the other opponents in this stage, it has its own unique style of play and is a very fast team."
It should be noted that the team led by Gurban Gurbanov will play the first match against Newcastle at home, and the return match away. The first matches of the play-off stage will be held on February 17-18, and the return matches will be held on February 24-25.
