Idman.biz reports that these words were said by the head coach of "Qarabagh" Gurban Gurbanov on the eve of his visit to North Macedonia.
The experienced specialist stated that, in general, they will play against a team that won in two games: "Everyone thought that "Steaua" would win, but the opposite happened - "Shkendiya" won both games. First of all, we tried to improve our preparation. Our goal was to restore the players' sports form, and we managed to do it to some extent.
But when it comes to the game, we will face a more enthusiastic and eager team. It should be noted that this is already the 3rd qualifying round. Therefore, we must be very careful. The opponent is a characterful team. After the first game, the situation will be a little easier for us, because we will know the opponent better. We will try to show a good game as much as we can."
The head coach emphasized that Shkendiya's elimination of Steaua in the 2nd qualifying round was not a surprise for him: "In this tournament, each team is the champion of its country. All teams try to achieve maximum results. According to the results of two games, we have repeatedly witnessed that teams that people did not expect win. We are in this business and we are constantly waiting for such results."
Gurban Gurbanov also clarified when Joni Montiel, the newly recruited midfielder, will be ready: "He is not fully ready yet. He is a little behind in terms of preparation. It will take at least two weeks, that is, 15-20 days, to bring him to a normal state."
It should be noted that the match, which will be held on August 5 at the Toshe Proeski National Arena in Skopje, will start at 22:00 Baku time.
