Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola has stated that he is annoyed by rumors that he will leave the club before the match against Chelsea in the 20th round of the English Premier League.
Idman.Biz reports that Guardiola addressed his detractors with harsh words.
"Why should I tell you my opinion? This is just a rumor. Do you want to fire me? Oh my God. I have a contract, I have said it a million times already. But my authority is zero, isn't it? I know you're tired of me after 10 years. Do you want me to leave? Yes, I'm almost sure of it. You know, I'll leave one day. I promise. But I have a contract, I'm happy, I want to fight with my team. The management respects me. They proved it with what happened at the club last season, when we couldn't win a single game for two or three months. They support me. What can I do? Maybe one day it will happen, I don't know. Football is a surprise. I can only confirm how lucky I am. I am in the club I am now and I am staying here. My club is extraordinary," The Sun newspaper quoted Guardiola as saying.
After 19 games played in the English Premier League, Manchester City has 41 points and is in second place in the standings. Chelsea is in fifth place with 30 points.
