Italy national team head coach Gennaro Gattuso has shared his expectations for the 2026 World Cup play-off game. Sport24.az reports that the 47-year-old expert spoke about the upcoming match against Northern Ireland:
"Northern Ireland is a physically strong team. Moreover, they never give up. We will have to fight, I've been saying this for three months. We knew that we had to pass the play-off stage. This is a path we need to improve, but we look to the future with confidence."
In the play-off semi-final, Italy will host Northern Ireland. The game will be held on March 26 in Italy. If the "Blues" win, they will face the winner of the Wales - Bosnia and Herzegovina match in the final, which will be held on March 31 away.
