An interview with Gabala's new legionnaire, Isaac Amoah, to Sportinfo.az
- You started the game against Zira quickly, opened the scoring, and created several goal opportunities. What do you see as the reason for the defeat?
- We didn't have a bad first half. But in the last 15 minutes, we made some mistakes, and the opponent took advantage of it skillfully. We did our best, we fought. As I said, we lost because of small mistakes. We need to work on our mistakes.
- There is a big difference between Zira and Gabala in every sense. Can the minimal defeat be considered a draw?
- Zira really has experienced players in their squad. In this case, we were trying not to lag behind them. We even looked superior at times. If we were lucky in the goal episodes, we could talk about a draw in the real sense, not metaphorically. I promise you will see a better Gabala after playing together for a few weeks.
- There are quite a few young players in your squad. Does their mistakes cause anger in other players?
- It is normal for 18-20 year old football players to make mistakes. I have been down that road myself. People learn from their mistakes. Especially against such experienced teams, excitement causes mistakes. And besides, not only young people make mistakes, even the most experienced football players make them.
- The strengthening of the team with new players is questionable. Does it seem possible to maintain its place in the Premier League with this squad?
- Regardless of the quality of the squad, this is the number one goal in front of us. We have to give our lives on the field to achieve our goal. The season has just started, and many things will happen in the coming months. I know the skills and character of my fellow football players. I believe that we will cope with the goal.
- Is it difficult to play in the Azerbaijani elite?
- The Premier League means a high category. There is a great meaning in this name itself. The championship brings together strong teams and quality football players. It's hard to be difficult. But I'm not thinking about the difficulty of the job, but about overcoming it. I have to do it so that I can benefit Gabala.
