As part of the preparations for the new season in the Azerbaijan Premier League, a friendly match between "Gabala" and "Sumgayit" (1:0) was held.
Idman.biz reports that after the game, the head coaches of the teams shared their thoughts.
The coach of the "Red-Blacks" Kakhaber Tskhadadze said that they still have a lot of work to do, a lot to improve: "We have new players. They are also in the process of adapting to the team and playing style. Friendly matches are very important in this regard. Of course, we have many mistakes. There are many things we need to work on. Just because we won doesn't mean we should relax. Relaxation is absolutely unacceptable. There are many missing nuances. We played well in the previous matches as well. This time, most players were on the field for more than 80 minutes. We still have a lot of work to do, a lot to move forward."
The Georgian expert also touched upon the issue of transfers: "There should also be transfers. This is currently one of the most important issues. We are working hard with our sports director to implement new transfers. We are aware that we need to strengthen. And to strengthen in the right direction."
The head coach of "Sumgayit" Sasha Ilic emphasized that they played their first friendly game within the second stage of preparation: "We saw some successful and unsuccessful elements in our game. It is clear that there are some mistakes due to physical exertion. In this game, we made mistakes in ordinary situations and eventually lost. But this is normal and I think we will get better day by day. With the addition of several quality players in the coming days, we will have a stronger team."
