"The season was successful for us. In January, the team's situation was disastrous. We had 6 points and only 7-8 players in the squad. Some had left the club, some had ended their careers. Their physical condition was also very low." These words were said by Fuzuli Mammadov, the head coach of "Mingachevir", in his statement to Sport24.az.

"It is difficult to find quality players during the winter break. For this reason, we attracted players from the Reserve League and those who played little in their own team. Although we could not win in the first matches, I saw progress in the team. Even one point earned in the drawn games was very important for us. Over time, we won and the players' self-confidence increased. The players supported me a lot. I thank the management. They fulfilled what they had promised in advance. That is why we were able to finish the season in 4th place, even though many did not believe it."
Mammadov also emphasized that they have already made plans for the new season:
"Some players in the squad were playing on loan. They will return to their clubs. There will also be players we will send off. Of course, new players will be invited to the camp to fill the gap. Negotiations are already underway in this direction. But we do not want to destroy the backbone of the team. In addition to protecting it, we will strengthen the squad."
It should be noted that "Mingachevir" finished the season in 4th place.
