A few hours ago, information was published about the freezing of the activities of the "Gabala" FC academy. From that moment on, a "sigh" came from the football community. Why? Because this club has gained "favorite" status in Azerbaijan. Yes, they have not been perfect during their years of operation. But let's not forget that "mistakes happen where there is work". This is one side of the matter.
On the other hand, unlike last season, the "red-blacks" have been deprived of 700,000 manats allocated by AFFA this year. However, the association allocated enough funds for the reconstruction of the Gabala stadium before the match with Estonia, and in fact, this is also a form of support.
Speaking of AFFA, let's also note that the supreme football body has organized training camps for our national teams of different age groups in this beautiful place with the aim of supporting "Gabala". As they say, "both a visit and trade." However, in all cases, it is undesirable to largely suspend the activities of an academy like "Gabala".
Perhaps, as an alternative, it would be possible to exempt the club from the championship of veterans. But it is likely that all kinds of negotiations have taken place between the regional representative and the association, and the impossibility of this step has emerged.
At the same time, let's also note that the "Gabala" academy is not completely closed. The club simply will not be able to create conditions for the accommodation and nutrition of children coming from other regions.
What are we saying, "a bad day is short-lived". We would like to believe that this continuation of events will not last long. As they say, "the stream that comes will come again..."
