A young footballer in Mozambique was attacked by a crocodile during training.
Lent.az reports, citing "Daily Sun", that 19-year-old Estevao Alberto Cino, a player for the second division club "Atletico Mineiro de Tete", died while training on the banks of the Zambezi River.
According to the head coach of the football team, Eduardo Carvalho, on the evening of Thursday, June 19, 2025, Cino approached the water after finishing his run and was attacked by a crocodile. Witnesses claim that the reptile was approximately five meters long. Unfortunately, his teammates were unable to help the young man.
Crocodile attacks are quite common in the Zambezi River region. Local police spokesman Leonel Mucina confirmed the incident and noted that the athlete's body has not yet been found.
