Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has once again stated his position regarding the European Super League project.
Idman.Biz reports that Perez said that UEFA dictates the format of the competitions, which harms the fans.
"It is not normal or legal to prevent clubs from organizing their own tournaments. It is not right for UEFA to determine our destiny and impose formats that harm the fans. That is why they force us to play games in Asia, near China," the president emphasized.
He also emphasized the importance of freely broadcast football matches.
"We did it at the Club World Cup. I thank FIFA because it allowed even a poor child in Africa to watch the games. It is possible to broadcast the games for free through the "Unify" broadcasting platform, and I support FIFA in this direction. I can only think of one reason why UEFA doesn't do this: delaying it for a year means another year of millions of euros in salaries for them," Perez added.
