A scuffle broke out on the field after the final whistle of the Algeria-Nigeria match in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
İdman.Biz, citing "Goal", reports that the Algerian national team's goalkeeper caused a scandal on the field after the final whistle following a 0-2 defeat to Nigeria.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper initially had a verbal argument with Nigerian midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
In a short time, this argument turned into a scuffle, and players and technical staff members of both teams joined the incident.
During the incident, Luca Zidane also had an argument with another member of the Nigerian national team, Rafael Onyedika, a player for Brugge.
It should be noted that Algeria finished the group stage with a 100% record, winning against Sudan, Burkina Faso, and Equatorial Guinea.
After defeating DR Congo 1:0 in the 1/8 finals, the team failed to overcome the Nigeria (0:2) barrier.
Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams scored Nigeria's goals.
This result ensured that the Nigerian national team will face the tournament's host and one of the favorites, Morocco, in the semi-finals.
