FIFA and UEFA leadership negatively received the recent statements of Barcelona President Joan Laporta.
Idman.biz reports with reference to Sport.es that Laporta's criticism of the organizers of the Club World Cup to be held in the USA was perceived as offensive by FIFA.
The head of the Catalan club expressed his dissatisfaction with the current champions of La Liga not being invited to the tournament and called the participation of weaker teams there unfair.
UEFA did not support Laporta's initiative to hold some matches of the Spanish championship abroad. In addition, ongoing disagreements between the organization and Barcelona regarding the Super League project further escalate relations.
