FIFA and the International Federation of Professional Players (FIFPro) have reached an agreement on mandatory leave for footballers at the end of the season. Sport24.az reports that this was stated by an official representative of FIFA in a statement to Yahoo Sports:
"There is a general agreement that there should be at least 72 hours of rest between matches and that players should rest for at least 21 days at the end of each season."
It should be noted that in the summer of 2024, the International Federation of Professional Football Associations (FIFPro), the football associations of England and France filed a lawsuit against FIFA, accusing it of overloading the organizational calendar after increasing the number of participants in the World Championship and updating the format of the interclub World Championship.
