"The goalkeepers invited to the national team were also involved in the team in previous gatherings." These words were said by Farhad Veliyev in his statement to Sport24.az.
The former goalkeeper of the Azerbaijan national team commented on Shahruddin Mahammadaliyev, who has not appeared on the field for 3 months, being invited to the national team:
"Although Shahruddin Mahammadaliyev has suffered from injury for a long time, as far as I know, he has already started training. In my opinion, every goalkeeper called up is worthy of the national team. Shahruddin is the main goalkeeper of the team. That's why he was invited. Yusif Imanov performs stably in "Kapaz". I think he could also be involved in the squad. Of course, it is the head coach's decision, we respect it."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan national team will face Saint Lucia on March 27 and Sierra Leone on March 30. Both games will be held at the Mehdi Huseynzade Sumgayit City Stadium and will start at 19:00.
