– In the last match, you drew with "Neftchi", who claims to be the champion. Did you expect this?
– To be honest, we knew that the game against "Neftchi", one of the main favorites of the championship, would be tense. For this reason, we prepared for the game seriously and purposefully. This game was an indicator of both our determination and our self-confidence. It gave us extra confidence and motivation for the upcoming matches.
– In general, "Imishli" started the Premier League with a good fight – contrary to expectations. What is the main motivation of the team?
– We made a fairly combative and confident start to the Premier League. Our main motivation stems from the pride of representing "Imishli". We are not accidental here and we want to prove it. It is normal to have some doubts about us as a newly formed team, but these doubts, on the contrary, make us even stronger. Our goal is not only to stay in the league, but also to fight for a worthy position.
– Has any specific goal been set for you in the league, or are you just thinking about staying here?
– My goal is not only to stay in the league, I have bigger goals. This season, my goal is to both score goals and help my team strengthen in the league with productive passes.
– In the next round, you will face another ambitious team, "Sabah". Will it be possible to get points from this opponent as well?
– We know that the match against "Sabah" will not be easy. The opponent is a strong and experienced team. But we will do our best to show our potential on the field.
– How did the Azerbaijan championship affect you after the first two rounds?
– As a player of "Imishli", the first two rounds of the Premier League were a valuable experience for me. The expansion of the league to 12 teams has increased competition and this dynamic can be clearly felt on the field. Playing at this level is an important opportunity both for individual development and team-wise.
– Does the fact that "Imishli" does not play at its home stadium affect the team? Are different things possible in front of full stands?
– The fact that we are currently holding our home games outside of Imishli is, of course, a different experience. Playing in front of our native fans is a special motivation for every football player and we always feel their support. We are currently trying to do our best.
– What is your knowledge about other teams in the Azerbaijan Premier League and which team seems very strong to you?
– After the first two rounds, it is possible to clearly feel the level of competition in the Premier League. The expansion of the league to 12 teams has brought together the struggle of both experienced favorites and ambitious new teams like us. This balanced and diverse competition makes the fight more interesting and dynamic.
