During the summer "transfer window", clubs spent a record amount of money on transfers. Sport24.az reports that FIFA has released a report on this.
The summer "transfer window" was open from June 1 to September 2, including a special period from June 1 to 10 due to the Club World Cup held in the USA. During this period, nearly 12,000 international transfers were made in men's professional football, which is a new record.
Club transfer spending rose to $9.76 billion. This is the highest figure of all time and is more than 50% higher compared to the same period in 2024.
It should be noted that English clubs spent more than $3 billion on new transfers. This is an all-time record among national associations.
