The capital representative, which joined the competition in the 2009/10 season under the name "Neftçi" ISM, became "Qaradağ Lökbatan" after 2 years. The team was also one of the most successful participants in the lower division.
"Qaradağ Lökbatan", which fought for the championship until the last rounds last year and lost the ticket to the Premier League in the fight with "Shamakhi", has been among the award winners 7 times. Although the Baku club became champion in the 2011/12 and 2021/22 seasons, it could not get a license for the Premier League.
The team, which took 2nd place in the I League in the 2012/13, 2015/16, 2017/18 and 2023/24 seasons, was satisfied with 3rd place in the 2013/14 season. "Qaradağ Lökbatan" also took the last place in the 2019/20 season, as it is now. However, the 13-team championship was interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the rule of relegation did not work because there was no second division.
It should be noted that the Baku club, which drew 2:2 with "Karvan" yesterday, officially took the last place with one round left. "Qaradağ Lökbatan" with 23 points is 3 points behind "Difai" and "Jabrayil".
