Elvin Mammadov, who resigned from the position of head coach of "Sabail", which plays in the Azerbaijan I League, said that such a step was necessary at the current moment.
The expert also shared his views on "Sabail"'s performance this season.
"It was necessary to take such a step at the current moment. We didn't have a bad start to the season. We lost points in some moments, which is normal. There are inevitable moments in football. We created a lot of scoring chances in the games, but we just couldn't use them. This worried me a lot. We also created a lot of scoring chances in the match with "Jabrayil". But if you can't "fall" into the goal from 5 meters, then you need to change something," he said in a statement to "Report".
The former midfielder emphasized that he had no problems with the club management:
"We agreed and separated with the management in complete sincerity. This step must be taken to change something in such a period. We understood each other. We had a 5-point difference with the leader. I tried to fix the situation. We have our own way and we want to continue it. How right or wrong the path we are taking is another topic. But at least we were trying to play football, I wanted to teach something. Whatever is best, let it be".
He said that he wants to develop as a coach:
"If I have entered this path, my goal is to develop. I don't have great ambitions. Anyway, coaches better than me have resigned or been dismissed. I have just started coaching. There is no problem in this regard. I weigh everything. My job, my path is this. I want to continue coaching. Everything is a great experience for me. I guess there will be offers and I will make a choice".
It should be noted that E.Mammadov left "Sabail" yesterday by mutual agreement. The team is currently second in the I League standings with 18 points.
