"The preparation went according to plan. We held two training sessions a day. As planned in advance, we wanted to hold 3-4 test matches, which we achieved. The team members tried to give back to us during training what we gave them."
These words were said by the head coach of "Araz-Nakhchivan" Elmar Bakhshiyev in his statement to Sport24.az.
The experienced specialist was also pleased that 3 of their opponents were Super League teams: "In short, we tried to make the most of the 2-week period. We had a useful training camp. We will see the benefits of this in the upcoming games and during the championship."
The head coach stated that he was satisfied with the training camp that his team held in Turkey: "We will carry out the final part of the preparation for the game with "Aris" in Baku. Certain loads were given during the training camp, there were tactical and technical exercises. We will gradually see the benefits of this. Therefore, it is impossible to say that the team is 100% ready. However, I think that this figure is close to 70-80 percent. As I mentioned, our opponents in the last 3 matches were teams playing in the Turkish Super League. In games with such strong opponents, it is possible to look at tactical, physical and functional preparation, check and improve inter-line connections, see and work on mistakes. We also tried to give a chance to all the players we brought to the training camp. I was satisfied with the players. They were enthusiastic and eager. Although the weather was hot, we had no problems with training. Food at the hotel and training grounds were also in good condition. God willing, we will see the benefits of this in the games."
It should be noted that the first match of the second stage between "Araz-Nakhchivan" and "Aris", who will compete in the Conference League, will be held in Baku on July 24, and the return match will be held in Greece on the 31st of the month.
