Elgiz Abbasov: The final of the Azerbaijan Cup will be held at the peak form of the teams

"The early holding of the Azerbaijan Cup final match will coincide with the time when the clubs are in peak form." Sport24.az reports that this was stated by Elgiz Abbasov, technical-sports director of the PFL, in his statement to journalists after the draw ceremony.

He emphasized that the teams will have more rest:

"First of all, we must emphasize the victory of "Qarabag". We congratulate every employee of the club. The Azerbaijan Cup will be held with the participation of 34 teams. The teams will join the fight in stages. The final game of the Cup will be held on May 13, 2 rounds before the end of the Azerbaijan championship. There is a reason for this. The game will coincide with the time when the teams will be intense and in peak form. At the same time, they will have more rest before the games of the national teams."

The PFL official explained the reason for including the final match in "Neftchi Arena":

"Taking into account infrastructure issues, we decided to hold the final match at "Neftchi Arena". We had a fruitful meeting with the club management. They will give us full support in this matter. The stadium holds about 9,000 fans. In addition, a number of renovation works have been carried out."

It should be noted that 34 teams will participate in the Azerbaijan Cup. Until the 1/4 finals, the winner will be determined based on the result of one game. Then the home-away principle will be applied. The final match of the Azerbaijan Cup will be held on May 13 at "Neftchi Arena".
