German club "Eintracht Frankfurt" has terminated its cooperation with head coach Dino Toppmöller.
Idman.Biz reports that the Bundesliga representative has issued an official statement on this matter, confirming the information circulating in the media in recent days.
The club management stated that the decision was the result of an extensive sports analysis conducted in recent weeks, especially after the first three games of the new year.
Markus Krösche, Eintracht's sports director, highly appreciated Toppmöller's activities. According to him, the specialist successfully took the team out of the restructuring phase, brought it to international tournaments, and achieved the best result in the club's history by taking third place in the Bundesliga last season. However, it was emphasized that the club needs a new sports impulse against the background of the decline observed recently. The statement noted that the requirements for dynamic, aggressive and compact football were not sufficiently met this season.
It was reported that the team will be temporarily managed by Dennis Schmitt, head coach of the U-21 team, and Alexander Mayer, coach of the U-19 team. It was announced that the main responsibility will be on Dennis Schmitt.
Dino Toppmöller, while not hiding his disappointment with the decision, accepted the club management's choice and thanked Eintracht for the cooperation shown over the past two and a half years.
