A Brazilian court has issued an arrest warrant for Douglas Costa, former forward of "Bayern" and "Juventus", for unpaid child support exceeding 78 thousand euros.
According to Idman.biz, citing "Globe Esporte", the decision was made by the 6th Family Court of Porto Alegre. The verdict stipulates a 30-day prison sentence and is valid for two years.
Against the backdrop of legal difficulties, the "Sydney" club announced the termination of the contract with the 35-year-old footballer by mutual agreement. Costa joined the Australian club last year and scored 6 goals in 25 matches. He apologized to the fans, stating that he was forced to stay in Brazil to resolve personal matters.
Head coach Ufuk Talay thanked Costa for his contribution and noted that the decision to end the relationship was made in the best sense from the point of view of the club's preparation for the new season. "Sydney" has already strengthened its squad with eight new players, hoping to compete for the A-League championship.
