The president of the South American Football Confederation, Alejandro Dominguez, criticized the Europeans after the cancellation of the Finalissima match planned between Argentina and Spain. Sport24.az reports that he spoke about the issue as follows: "If the opponent did not appear on the field and the defeat was applied, Argentina should have been a two-time Finalissima champion (the team had previously won the cup in 2022). Do you know who the two-time champion is? It's us, because they didn't come to the game."
Earlier, the decisive meeting was scheduled to be held in Qatar on March 27. However, due to the increasing conflict in the Middle East, the game was initially postponed, but the parties could not agree on a new venue. Spain offered to hold the game in Madrid, then two game options were discussed: one in Spain, the other in Argentina. The last offer was to hold the game in Rome. But the Spanish side rejected the Argentinians' proposal as well.
