- Of course, it motivated not only me, but our entire team. Because this team is currently playing in the Champions League, which is considered the highest level for European football. Playing against such an opponent requires responsibility.
- Although you joined "Shamakhi" in the summer, you give the impression that you have been here for years. What is behind the successful performance?
- This is the work of our coaching staff. I couldn't look so comfortable without their support. Azerbaijan also has a role. I feel very good in your country.
- I don't think you will stay in "Shamakhi" for long. What do you think?
- It is nice to hear positive opinions about my game (laughs). Of course, every football player wants to play in a higher-level club, championship, and earn good money. This cannot be denied. However, I currently have a contract with "Shamakhi" and I am happy here.
- Does Aykhan Abbasov's work in the national team as well as in "Shamakhi" negatively affect you?
- Even before coming to Azerbaijan, I had heard positive opinions about Aykhan Abbasov. My manager said that this coach will play a role in your development. It really is. His departure to the national team is only a positive moment for us. This is a good experience for him. Because he works with the best football players in the country in the national team. That experience also has a good effect on us.
- You mentioned earlier that "Qarabağ" played in the Champions League. Interestingly, considering that you are Portuguese, who were you rooting for in the "Benfica" - "Qarabağ" match?
- Frankly, I was trying to enjoy beautiful football. I didn't support any team. It is surprising that "Qarabağ" defeated "Benfica". But it makes me happy. Because if I play in this country, I should be happy for the success of the Azerbaijani club.
