France national team's head coach Didier Deschamps gave an interview to UEFA's press service before the semi-final match of the Nations League against Spain. Sport24.az reports that Deschamps emphasized that he does not want to recall the defeat to the Spaniards in 2024:
I don't like the word "revenge". This is a different tournament, a different semi-final. This is a new opportunity to reach the final. I don't want to go back to the semi-finals of Euro 2024, but I agree that Spain was superior to us at that time, especially in terms of possession of the ball. I don't deny that the Spaniards were better than us last time, but I don't think there was a big difference between us.
The most optimal option in the match against Spain is to play very well in defense. But if you only think about playing in defense, then there is no point in playing football at all. It is necessary to find a balance between defense and attack. Our opponent likes to play and tries to play more with the ball. Our main task is to make it difficult for the Spanish national team on the field.
It should be noted that the Spain-France match will be held today. The starting whistle of the game will sound at 23:00 Baku time.
