Cosqune Aliyeva: "I didn't expect to be the most productive player this season, but I want to play in foreign championships"

Cosqune Aliyeva, a Neftchi football player who became the most productive player of the 2024/2025 season in the AFFA High Women's League, shared her impressions of the championship.

The striker gave an interview to "Report" about this.

She stated that she became a top scorer thanks to the goals she scored in the last games:

"Of course, we are all happy to have won. We have won consecutive championships in the last two years. I didn't expect to be the most productive player this season. Frankly, I didn't have a goal to score a lot of goals and become a top scorer. I only showed such a result in the last games. The goal in the next season will be the championship again."

The member of the Azerbaijani national team also emphasized that the last season was tiring:

"I rate the season as excellent, but at the same time it was extremely tiring. I don't remember when the last time such a tiring season was for me and my team. Besides, it was also fun. In short, I can say that we had a very high level season."

C. Aliyeva also emphasized that she could go to another club:

"I will participate in the UEFA Champions League games as part of Neftchi. I can go if I receive offers from other clubs. You have to play in better leagues to develop. There are only 6 teams in the Azerbaijani championship. The league is not so strong, there is no competition. Almost the best is our team. If there was competition, of course, who wouldn't want to play in their homeland? I want to play in foreign championships."

It should be noted that Neftchi won the AFFA High Women's League this season. Cosqune Aliyeva became the most productive player of the championship with 31 goals.
