An interview with Choshgun Diniyev, the new transfer of "Araz Nakhchivan", to Sportnet.az after the away victory with a score of 2:0 over "Kapaz" in the IV round of the Azerbaijan Premier League.
– What are your thoughts on the game?
– I am happy that we won. Of course, we must collect points during this period. If we speak as realistically as possible, if one of our biggest rivals is "Qarabag", then the more points we can take during their difficult period, the better. I believe that we will continue and at least repeat last year's result.
– Why didn't your TFF First League career continue in Turkey: Were there offers from other teams to become a legionnaire?
– Of course, there were offers from Turkey. I would say that I endured a lot there. I was patient for 3 years, gritted my teeth, but there were some financial difficulties. I'm getting older, my child is growing up, I had to make a decision. That's why the offer from here appealed to me.
– What do you think about the game against "Qarabag" in the next round?
– It's a difficult game. But again, "Qarabag" has a difficult period and a tight schedule at the moment. No matter how much they deny it, 70–80 percent of their thoughts are in the Champions League. They want to win, and we will do our best to win.
– Do you have any thoughts on living a legionnaire life again?
– Frankly, I do. It would not be right if I said "No." I am open to offers.
– How do you assess the changes in the national team?
– There is no change in the national team. A head coach will come, and then we will talk. Fernando Santos was a head coach that I liked very much. No matter what anyone says, I was upset. But the results were also obvious. When there is no result, the head coach inevitably bears the primary responsibility. I also wish him success in his future career.
– There is great competition in the midfield at "Araz Nakhchivan". Did you accept this competition when you came?
– Before I came, I knew that there were many players in the midfield of "Araz Nakhchivan". When I spoke with Zaur Akhundov, the actual head of the club, I felt confidence in myself. I would not come to a team where I would not play. I trusted myself.
– You have worked with Turkish coaches. In your opinion, why is a coach from the brotherly country not appointed to the national team?
– Whatever I say would be a lie because I don't make the decision. But they really have a mentality close to us. Working with them, I think, would be interesting.
