"The Kosovo - Turkey match will be very tense. Star players can decide the fate of the game".
These words were said by Rahman Kica, the former president of Kosovo's "Liria" club, while talking about the final match between the Kosovo and Turkey national teams in the European zone play-off stage of the World Championship today.
He stated that the players playing in the "crescent-stars" team play in the leading European leagues, and this is a great advantage.
"Most of the players in the Turkish national team play in strong championships such as Serie A, La Liga and Bundesliga. Kenan Yıldız, Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Arda Güler are players who can change the fate of the game at any moment. For this reason, I think that the meeting will be very tense and in an equal struggle," he said in a statement to AZERTAC.
R. Kica emphasized that the match is of a final nature and will be a match where mistakes will not be forgiven: "We wish both teams to show a good game. I rate the chances as 50-50. Noting that the main hopes in the Kosovo national team are on striker Vedat Muriqi, the former club president said that the home field factor can also play an important role: "The game will be held on our field. The stadium has artificial turf. Turkish football players are not very used to playing on such turf. This may create a certain advantage for the Kosovo national team".
According to the well-known manager, the Kosovars may choose more cautious tactics than in previous games: "I don't think they will play open football like in the play-off match with Slovakia (3:4). Most likely, they will perform with a 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 scheme".
