"Victory is important for our national team in every game." These words were said to Sport24.az by former Azerbaijani national football player Ceyhun Sultanov.
The 45-year-old former midfielder shared his thoughts on the friendly match that the team will play against Latvia today:
"It is interesting for us what situation our football players, the team will be in. I think that head coach Fernando Santos will make moves to build the team of the future. It is a friendly match. He will check the football players. But the result also matters. We know our national team and we know what quality the football players have. This opponent is at the same level as us. At least we want to see a good game. In this case, the results will come. I wish our team success!".
It should be noted that today's Latvia-Azerbaijan game, which will be held at the "Skonto" stadium in Riga, will start at 17:00 Baku time.
