Boyan Letic leaves "Sabah": Reason for departure, Baku memories and traffic jams - INTERVIEW

Azerbaijan Premier League leader "Sabah" parted ways with Bosnian footballer Boyan Letic a few days ago. The 33-year-old defender, who has been a member of the "owls" since February 2022, has played a total of 125 games and played an important role in the club's history. In addition to being the second player with the most games in the history of "Sabah", Letic is also the author of the first goal in European Cups.

In his interview with teleqraf.az, he answered both the reasons for his departure and other questions.

- Why did you leave "Sabah"?

- We were going to play with "Shamakhi" in the second round of the Premier League. Three days before that game, I injured my wrist and the results showed that I had to take a two-month break. Seven days later, I was told that a replacement had been found for me and that I would not be registered in the PFL for the championship.

- What goals have you achieved as a football player and what goals do you still have?

- My goal was to play either in Italy or in Spain, which I achieved. Of course, I still have goals, but I don't want to talk about them.

- Who supported you the most in "Sabah"? Have you been offended by anyone in the club?

- I wouldn't single out anyone, I really had a good relationship with every player. I tried to build a correct relationship with everyone and I think I did it. I will have many memorable games in "Sabah", but I would choose the game with "Partizan" in Baku, because I played well and scored a beautiful goal.

- What did you like most about Azerbaijan? How is your relationship with the local cuisine?

- There is too much traffic in Baku. People drive very dangerously. That is, there is a lot of congestion. As for food, there are good dishes, but they are too heavy for me. I prefer lighter meals. Frankly, Baku impressed me a lot in a positive way. People are positive, they want to help, it makes me happy, you are similar to people in my country.

- What memories do you leave Baku with at the end?

- I admire Baku, it is a beautiful, modern city. I sincerely hope that I will have the chance to visit this city in the future. And it will always remain a special place in my heart.

- What would you like to say to "Sabah" fans?

- I thank them for supporting me all these years. I hope I have met their expectations and they will remember me well.
