Mert Hakan Yandaş, a footballer from Turkey's "Fenerbahçe" club, is among the dozens of people arrested in connection with the betting scandal investigation.
İdman.Biz reports that the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered the arrest of Mert Hakan Yandaş, "Galatasaray" footballer Metehan Baltacı, "Konyaspor" player Alassane Ndao, former "Adana Demirspor" president Murat Sancak, as well as Kerem Yusuf Sirkeci, Emircan Çiçek, İzzet Furkan Malak, and Bartu Kaya. Court supervision measures have been applied to a number of other footballers and functionaries.
According to the investigation materials, Mert Hakan Yandaş transferred millions of liras to Ersen Dikmen between December 2021 and October 2025, and these funds were quickly directed to official betting sites. It was noted that coupon images for "Fenerbahçe" matches were found on Yandaş's digital media, and the possibility of his participation in betting activities that could affect the results, including matches of his own team, is being investigated.
The documents contain records that many footballers bet on matches of the clubs they played for or were contractually related to, with scenarios such as "opponent wins", "my team wins", "under/over 2.5 goals", as well as draws. It is reported that the accounts and coupon images of some suspects have been discovered on both official betting platforms and various betting sites.
